Aikido is a Japanese art of self defense developed by Morihei Ueshiba ("O Sensei") in the early twentieth century.
Aikido involves redirecting the power and energy of an attack, resulting in the attacker being unbalanced and subsequently either projected (thrown) or immobilized (pinned). It is the attacker's own force and momentum which ultimately neutralizes the aggression. Aikido Practice |
